Another Country was a 1984 British romantic historical drama film and featured Colin Firth as well as gay actor Rupert Evertt in their debut roles. Directed by Marek Kanievska and written by Julian Mitchell, the film is loosely based on the life of the spy and double agent Guy Burgess. The film explores his homosexuality and exposure to Marxism, while being set in a public school, in Winchester, during the 1930s.
